Hi there, this is Amit with a short recap of how these past few months have gone for JobTok.
JobTok launched in July this year with a bang. Episode 1, about a rocketship career, was a rocketship success, establishing an honest, friendly tone about career and working life that people really seemed to enjoy. Episode 2, in the same vein, was about non-linear career trajectories and how to navigate them. Episodes 3 and 4 moved away from theory towards tactics on how to get noticed in meetings and how to demonstrate your readiness to take on more responsibility. All these episodes were strong performers and cemented our position pretty early as a podcast for growth minded professionals.
Having established our chops, we continued to bring out good monologues till we had our first guest on episode 9, in which Prasad Naik, an accomplished professional in the tech industry, shared his remarkable story of taking a career gamble to join a relatively unknown startup over a tech giant. We then moved to Grehg Yeo, himself the host of a 1 Foot In, a popular Singapore podcast that helped us understand the top workplace concerns of new grads. We finished off the year with two more excellent episodes, about making career transitions with Rivana Mezaya of Grab and about organisational mobility with Varun Sharma from Google. We’ve been lucky to have a great slate of guests and hope to remain the place where high-achieving professionals share their best tips for success.
Together we put out 12 episodes this year, growing our listenership pretty fast from 0 to well over a hundred in just a few short months. Best of all, we started ranking on top charts pretty early, peaking at #2 for Careers podcasts in Singapore, #5 in Indonesia and #20 in India. These are numbers we can barely believe since it means we beat out some real big-name global podcasts to clinch those positions. And we continue to be a steady feature in rankings across various countries.
We owe all this to you and thank you for all your follows, listens, and reviews. We really appreciate you joining us on this journey and we are very encouraged by your response.
So encouraged, in fact, that today I’d like to make a few exciting announcements.
Earlier this year, we formally registered CrazyTok as a company. We believe the world is getting more unequal, with the rewards going disproportionately to those with money, connections, or the inside track. On the other hand, smart, talented, hard-working outsiders struggle and grind their way up the ladder, never really finding the formula for success. At CrazyTok, we provide the platform to connect growth-minded, high-potential individuals with expert and high-achieving insiders so you can get honest advice to accelerate your career, build wealth and shape the life of your dreams. No, it’s not just CrazyTok.
Now that we’ve set up CrazyTok, we plan to shift our content creation into overdrive. I’m happy to announce today the launch of our third show, ShopTok, offering practical advice and tips for small businesses, bootstrapped entrepreneurs, solopreneurs and creators. We’ll drop our first few episodes early Feb, so do look out for it and share it with your side-hustling friends.
But that’s not all on the content side. We realise we don’t have a monopoly on career, financial and business knowledge. There are many others with excellent knowledge, advice and expertise in these areas, and we plan to launch more new shows with new creators all through the year so you can get the best advice from the best people, not just us.
And finally, saving the best for the last I hope, I’d like to announce the impending launch of the CrazyTok community where you can continue career and money conversations with peers and experts in a supportive environment with more personalised interaction. We promise good conversation, good company and, we hope, good results for you personally.
We hope to see you there soon, so please sign up for early access via the link in the episode description.
All this will take some time, and we are also itching for a break, so we will be off on a hiatus and back online with all these shiny new things by early Feb. Till then, we wish you happy holidays and a wonderful start to the new year.
Thanks for tuning in.
This was Amit with JobTok. See you in the new year!
